CLC Club La Costa World, Mijas Costa - Promo week

Updated: Aug 31, 2018

We stayed here on a promo week, well aware that we had to attend a presentation during our visit, but for £99 we thought we'd give it a try and what a gem of a site it is.

We were given what was described as basic accommodation over two floors, two bedrooms, one double and one twin, bathroom, lounge, kitchen and balcony in Marina del Sol. To be fair for the price we paid the accommodation was very good and we had no complaints about it as a base for our visit.

Although there are restaurants on site, we bought our own food from a superstore in Fuengirola and cooked for ourselves most of the time. There are shops nearby with a Lidl and an Iceland store within 10 minutes drive.

However as we had planned lots of day trips we didn't have to cook evening meals. We did have a couple of drinks on site and the bars were quite busy but pleasant with a nice atmosphere.

We didn't use the pools on the complex preferring to go down to the beachfront so can't really comment on those but from what we saw they all looked very nice.

During our presentation we were shown around the complex and the pools and apartments looked lovely. We were shown the new apartments with hot tubs, they were spacious and nicely decorated, if we were to return we would book an apartment nearer one of the pool areas. The presentation itself was quite long winded and we were tempted to sign up but changed our minds during the cooling off period. I'm sure timeshare with CLC would suit some people but it wasn't for us. Saying that we would return to this resort as it was a good base for travelling around the area.

We hired a car and visited Fuengirola, Torremelinos, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Gibraltar. If you do hire a car avoid the motorways as the toll charges (and there are many tolls on the motorway) are ridiculous prices.

The complex is situated on the side of a hill and may not be suitable for those who have walking difficulties.

There is a couple of shops on site where you can purchase shopping items, reception staff are very helpful, they will assist you with any needs.

There is a charge for electricity which you pay on arrival.

A lovely complex in a good position for sightseeing around the area. Don't forget to take a trip to Gibraltar :) for more info on things to do click here

Please note that since our initial visit there have been lots of changes to the apartments and they have been updated. Whilst the bookings for Club La Costa used to be reserved for timeshare only, you can now book through various holiday sites.
